Hi Ive been using it for some months now and your supposed to start it from day one of your cycle. You take your temperature the min you wake up. Dont go to the bathroom or get out of bed. You should try to take it at the same time or within the hour (+ or -) Broken sleep or alcohol can give you temperature spikes so monitor that so you dont confuse it with ovulation. These are called disturbed readings and you should ignore them. For ovulation at least 3 readings in a row that are at least 0.1c higher than the last 6 and include one which is at least 0.2c higher. Also it makes it easier to read if you have a cover line (this is your average temp) to do this what you do is you note your highest reading before your ovulation readings and draw a line through it. This is if your charting it on a temp chart. I do hope this helps. Any questions just let me know and best of luck, Nikki
Hi Amanda,
If you can, you should buy the book "taking charge of your fertility", it will help you a lot and you can see lots of examples of other women's charts.
To answer your question, 30 minutes apart might be ok. Some women are very sensitive. I however, am not. Through experimenting I've found that I can get out of bed, go let my dog out, go lay back down and my temp will be basically the same as before I even got out of bed. Just make sure you hold it deep under your tonge in the same spot everyday.
I started tracking my cycles since last month and it's a great way to better understand your cycle!
I started with CD8 last month and have continues taking my temps everyday .. It is a good idea to take your temps at approximately the same time every morning ...but I think half and hour late or early should be fine..
I sleep with my Thermometer on my night table so I can use it first thing in the morning, before I get out of the bed...as getting up and moving around raises your temperature
you should see a clear pattern emerging after you chart a few cycles!!
hope this helps!
Same questions from me :)
