7 Year old Son PLEASE HELP

I'm going to sum up all of the symptoms of the last month for you all and any help would really be appreciated.
My son was bit by a deer tick, he has had some neck pain (on and off not terrible) very aggrevated belly nausa and pain in his stomach back pain (near kidney's)

Bruning during urination (urinalysis came back clean no infection)

liver appears to be tender to the touch (liver area under sternum toward the right side)
He has had two doctors appointments and the pediatrician pretty much blows me off as kinda crazy but here is the thing I am not a mother of 1 child who goes crazy over a splinter I have three boys and a daughter and 2 step children (crazy maybe I am but not over reacting!!!)

Now is what really worried me and tied all into one for me and cause grave concern
His whites of his eyes are turning dingy not quite yellow but dingy
His urinalysis was clean and I brought him for a ton of tests thanks to my second opinion doctor, his doctor said to put drops in his eyes for allergies??????????  NO SNEEZING NO WATERY EYES AND NO RUNNY NOSE??????????  I don't know what to think.   I am wondering what is causing this and cannot wait for a borage of tests to be given god knows when???

Any thougts?

So sorry to hear what your son is going through. Ticks are known to carry and transfer diseases to human, most commonly Lyme Disease. You need to take him to a specialist and have him tested for this. Lyme Disease is not the only tick-borne illness he could have contracted. I'm shocked, really SHOCKED, to hear that a doctor is NOT concerned and is dismissing a tick bite. Seems unfathomable in this day and age. Seriously, get him to another doc. I think you should try a rheumatologist. Keep trying docs until you get an answer.

When the whites of your eyes turn yellow, it's a sign that the liver is not functioning. It's not anything to take lightly. I've had hepatitis twice. That's how I dxed myself the second time since I knew the symtpoms. I looked in the mirror and the whites of my eyes were ever so slightly yellow. I was right. Tests showed I was in liver failure. You might also try a gastro doc. They treat hepatitis. Maybe a gastro doc will not dismiss you if he sees your sons eyes.

There is soooo much info on Lyme's Disease it's best to direct you to one of the major websites on lyme.

Good luck and keep us posted.

OK his ultrasound came back normal I'm waiting on the blood work results.  Now he's complaining that when he bends down it hurts his sternum area.  and when he breathes in he is indenting like a child does when they are having labored breathing but he's breathing fine (I come from a family with lots of asthma and my older son has asthma I can tell no probs with breathing)

Sounds like he may be developing arthritis in his sternum area. I can be very painful. Please get him to a specialist that actively treats lyme asap. The faster lyme is treated the better the chances for a full recovery.

Are his doctors affiliated with a major children's hospital? Our local children's hospital clinic is remarkable. I'm not sure what kind of doctors have seen your son, but I agree with the rheumatologist consult being a good idea. Trust your mother instincts and move forward accordingly.

I got the meds from the "second opinion" doctor as far as antibiotic he did say that it's important to get him on them asap but we must wait until his bloodwork comes back because if it's his liver or kidneys we may need to change meds and this one can make it worse.  We are close enough to three different hospitals for children Ai Dupont, CHOP (children's hospital of Pennsylvania) and Hopkins.  I just have to have a referal but I will keep taking him to different doctors until they treat him properly!!  Thanks so much for the info I really appreciate it.

NYchick,
If you would like to talk with other parents of children with Lyme, there is a "Flash Discussion" group at LymeNet. Dot. Org.

The people there can help you find a physician who is experienced in treating tick borne infections.
