It could be mites, bedbugs or fleas.
In any event they require a professional exterminator, and even then, these critters are extremely hard to get rid of. Whatever you pay them IT'S WORTH IT!
You are lucky they are localized, but beware - they MIGRATE.
In all cases they are attracted by carbon dioxide, Some people place a large plate of cold water in the room with a piece of dry ice in the middle. Supposedly they drown when they go for the dry-ice. I post this suggestion because the girl who suggested it to me told me she would dump a plate of spahetti on my head if I did not, so I am intimidated, but I cannot vouch for its effectiveness.
I was recently attacked by mites. They are crafty, invisibe, and can live everywhere: in dust, moldy-looking black or grey dots on your bedding and mattress, in pillows, plaster, pet dander, clothing, and in shoes. Wash everything in hot water with bleach, and dont just put it all back in the room when you're done- you've also got to clean and disinfect your living space! Dust mop under the furniture, steam clean the carpet, wash the curtains and cushions, wipe down the walls, maybe buy a new mattress, or cover it in plastic, new pillows, the works. The Hepa filter is a great idea, and you can use Calamine lotion on your itchy spots. Good luck!
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There is something in the bedding that is causing this. It could also be something in the bed like bed bug. Complete sun dry the bedding and the bed. It is also possible there is cat’s dander in the bedding. If sun drying does not help then you will need to change the bedding. Possibility of a damp wall or mold should also be looked at. . Keep a HEPA filter in your room and see if it helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Sounds like bedbugs, and they're hard to get rid of. You'll have to spray everything and wash everything, THOROUGHLY! And if they don't go away, you'd better call an exterminator. But, it could also be scabies, in which you should see your doctor and he'll give you this lotion called Kwell that you put all over your body, scapies can also get on animals too.
But, the best thing to do is see a doctor because trying to figure out what is wrong without seeing the bumps is pretty hard to do. When you scratch them, is THAT when they spread? If that's the case, I'd say it's scabies.
Another thing, if your friend KNOWS his girlsfriends cat has fleas, then tell them to get some treatment for the cat, that's ridiculous!!!
My guess, bedbugs. Good luck.
It could be bed bugs or even skabies. You can treat it with over the counter lice treatments. Spray your bed, floor, wash your linens, and put the lice treatment on your body. Just be careful around your delicate areas. This should help. You may even have to treat the rest of your house with the spray just to be sure it is contained. Not sure if this is the issue but it may be what is causing you to itch.
