Bad burn

I have a what seems to be minor friction burn on my knee from tripping on a treadmill a few days ago. I think because it's on my knee it is having a hard time completely healing- every time I move it the wound weeps as well as reopens a forming scab. Is it normal for this burn to be in throbbing pain? I usually have a high pain tolerance; however, this burn has kept my entire leg in throbbing pain for the past few hours.

Try some hydrogen peroxide to prevent infection and definitely if you get a couple days off move as little as possible, have someone that cares about you take care of the moving around for you.  Usually polysporin works for most types of cuts, scrapes, but you have to be sure it's either just a messy cut or scrape, versus an actual burn.  I'm not sure if polysporin is for burns, it very well maybe.  They also have a triple action, and pain relief version and most of them can be bought in generic.  You might try the hydrogen peroxide for one day unassisted to get rid of the messy part but again stay off it, bandage it as well.

amos,  it sounds like this wound is infected.

Do you have a minute clinic/walk in emergency room you can go see?  It's common for exercise equipment to have bacteria all over it.

The fact that you have a high pain threshold and your entire leg is throbbing is very concerning.

I hope you seek help soon.
