Hi, I used to have leukemia and my doctor did bone marrow asperations and spinal taps.

First they usually sedate you. He usually gave me Versed and Morphine for anxiety and pain.

He also puts EMLA on my back and it numbs it up.

Its a pretty painful procedure but the versed and morphine help a lot. He sometimes gives me zofran and ativan for nausea either one.

When they give you versed (midazolam) you usually forget all about it (amnesia) its pretty cool.

Bye take care.

You are on the prayer list at my church....we will all be praying for you tomorrow.  I won't lie, I have also heard that this is painful, but that them numbing the area is a good thing.  I know how scared you must be and I hope that you are able to sleep tonight.  I will pray for angels around you to help you through it.  Please let us know as soon as you're up to it, how it went.  ((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Thank you so much for your support.  I think I may have mentioned before that I have not told my family about any of this as I don't want them to worry about me.  You are in my thoughts and prayers also.

I forgot that you didn't tell them.  I am so sorry that you will have to do this alone.  I can understand the reasoning behind it though.  So, just know that your "forum family" will be with you in thought and prayer.  Anxious to hear from you soon.

Hi Duchess good luck for tomorrow. I haven't had abone marrow test but I was present at my husbands test. You can have a relaxant if you feel really nervous my hubby did and he didn't even know it had been done. I,m not entirely sure what sort of injection he had but he was totally unaware of all the proceeding other than he kept talking throughout. Any help I can give I will XXX Hugs for tomorrow. Chris
