Vertigo Eye Twitch Question
Last year I experienced for the first time - a severe case of vertigo - it last throughout the day and slightened in the next couple of days - it has happened not as severely, a few times thereafter. I have gone to the doctor and minor emergency room on the first instance per doctors instructions. The doctors informed me after listening to my medical history and a few physical tests that vertigo would be something that I may just have for the rest of my life and did not think that there was any underlying cause. I was concerned because several years ago I had "undiagnosed" heart problems that eventually wenty away, but occassionally I do still have chest pains. Yesterday, I again awoke with vertigo and today also. It is mild but symptoms come and go throughout the day - when looking down or quick head movement (which is frightening while driving) - but I realized that in the past week I have also had a constant eye twitch and headaches. I had constant eye twitch for about six months straight a couple of years ago also - probably about the same time as the first episode of vertigo. My husband recently left his company and began his own company so we are in the process of seeking medical insurance - I have lived in the doctors offices for the past 20 years (endometriosis(4 surgeries), infertility, fertility treatments, fibroids, cramps, heart condition, mild anemia, chest pains, and more...) so, my doctors know my history well. Does any one know if there are any links to eye twitch, headaches & vertigo? I have attempted to search this combination but no luck - thanks
do you think thyrod problem can be temporary due to heavy antibiotic treatment and general body defence low???

i underwent treatment for horrible virus no one of course knew what it was, but it was heavy on my chest. cough with choking, vomining and finally could not breathe. so, i still courgh , but not as bad and not dangerous, but for the last 3 weeks i developed these symptoms of lighthead! so, if its thyrod deficiancy-can it be just because body is tired? or do i need treatment?

I think I just got diagnosed with a case of vertigo, which is mild. do you think it will ever go away? i have been taking antivert, which doesn't seem to be helping me. although i did take it twice and trying not to take it as much. i can pretty much function during the day if i'm not doing anything stressful or driving long distances...i'm just worried.
Dear Carol, Thanks. I think this is it. I found another site with different images - which were not quite so impressive and, yep, that's the rash! Thank you for suggesting Lyme. I would have had this 19 years now so I don't think there's much chance for me to be cured...however, my son has been affected and he's nearly 10. Maybe there's some help for him. ...J
they checked my thyroid levels like free 3, free 4, t-4 ,tsh. what do the antibodies test look for? what could that tell me??
The antibody test will tell you if you have an autoimmune disease. If you do, you would preferably dose on symptoms and results of F4 and F3 tests as TSH usually low when antibodies present and cannot be relied upon. If you have Hashimoto's it most likely you will need life-long medication. Your doc should do the test if you ask - if not get another doc.

Guess where I live.....spitting distance from Branxton!!
My first problems occurred in 1987 after moving into a very nice house which had an infestation of fleas from the previous tennants' dogs! I did not notice ticks. The first symptoms were a ringworm-type rash (which was later diagnosed as discoid eczema after a biopsy - but I always felt I was given that diagnosis rather than him saying he didn't know. After being diagnosed with Hashimoto's I reckoned the rash was probably urticaria.) The rash started as a small circle and steadily increased in diameter and still leaving just the raised red circle. I also had immediate (within weeks) eyesight deterioration, eye floaters, depression, and hair loss. The rashes stayed with me for 10 years but they subsided in severity and since I've started taking thyroid hormone the rashes are back but mildly.
I always blamed the poison they sprayed in the house - which I walked bare footed over - as the culprit to my woes.
In 1993 when I was pregnant with child #1 I started to experience the heart palps and then slowly over the years gathered symptoms. On your list from the link above I have 61/73 - not including 1,2,3,4 (different rash) 9,24,26,27,63,64,68 and 72!!!! I had never looked at lyme disease before today. Thanks for that...I will ask the endo for and MRI to double check. I do seem to have EVERY symptom that any thyroid sufferer has.

well your list is longer than mine. But i was diagnosed as Grave's Disease about a year ago. HOwever since then they just feel it was post-partum hyperthyroidism. In any case my symptoms are:
dizziness (vertigo)
lightheaded
weakness/tiredness
tinnitus
headaches
sinus problems
anxiety
ocd
fears of passing out or worse
the worst part is that i was very active prior and was a runner. NOw I get lightheaded whenever I change my position to fast and it is very bothersome.

My list covers 2 pages!!! Eye floaters, hair loss, urticaria, mild depression, hyperpigmentation of skin and also hypo-pigmentation (Vitiligio) of skin, waxy legs, restless legs, aching legs, fatigue - mild to severe, breathlessness, chest pressure, pounding chest, severe headaches, squishing/grinding at base of skull (prob fluid), neck/back/shoulder discomfort, insomnia, sleep aponea, anosmia (altered sense of smell - i smell smoke), brain fog, inability to consentrate, menstrual irregularities, anxiety attacks, wake in fright, see things in peripheral vision, pain in rhs heel, night eyesight/re-focus deterioration, dizzy on standing, memory problems, pain behind right eye, dry eyes, pin stabbing sensation in eyes, sore throat, sense of throat obstruction, collapsed facial expression, swollen tongue with teeth indentations, tmj (jaw) problem, sensitive teeth, sagging eyelids, fatty liver, swollen ankle, vertigo, blurred vision when tired, arms go numb during night, tingling in arms and feet, no fingernail moons and insomnia to name a few!!! And I look so good - I'm 47 and slim - that the docs took no notice of my complaints for years!!!!! These came and went over the years.

Hi. I would recommend you have your thyroid function checked. I have those symptoms, plus a whole host of others, and they are all due to low functioning thyroid gland. Heart palps etc can also be a symptom.
Many thyroid victims are also victims of the lab ranges whereby they are told they are within "normal" range however the lab ranges are out of date. New lab ranges are .3 to 3.0 however you can still experience debilitating symptoms within this range. Best to get a copy of your thyroid tests and check for yourself on the net. You need also to get thyroid antibodies checked along with TSH, FT4 AND FT3.
