I find myself humming while I am at home, reading, shopping, or whatever I am doing. In the past 3 years I have lost my Mom, my best friend and my daughter last year. I am afraid I will hum when in public without realizing it and people will think I'm crazy. The humming has no melody, just making noise. I admit I have anxiety and take meds for this, but I would love to stop humming. My son teases me about it and mimics me. Help!!
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you are always humming then this is either a habit disorder or a method to overcome anxiety. There are many techniques to alter this habit or behavior disorder. Please consult a psychologist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
it sounds like a nervous disorder i started to breath through my teeth with my tough just after my step mum died,it only usually happens to me when i am worried about things or because something horrible has happened that are out of my control
