Episodes of drowsiness and mind blanking out.

I keep having these strange episodes every day when I become very drowsy and my mind feels like it's blanking out and I can't concentrate. My vision also gets slightly blurry. It lasts for about 20-30 minutes (sometimes eating and drinking water helps) and generally occurs about two hours after getting up for the day. It seems like the harder I try to concentrate during the episode the worse it gets and I get nauseated. Before the episode occurs I've had 2-3 cups of coffee with hot chocolate in it and a small breakfast of peanut butter on bread or pop tarts. I'm a 32 year old female in fair health aside from smoking and anxiety and depression.

Yes I do take celexa in the morning for depression and seroquel at night for sleep. I've never had my blood sugar checked and I'm not allergic to anything.

The symptoms that you are experiencing are those that at typical of hypoglycaemia - low blood sugar levels in the body.

You don't have to be a diabetic to suffer from hypoglycaemia.

I suggest you limit your intake of coffee to 1 cup, peanut butter on bread is fine because the peanuts are low release energy food.  The pop tarts are carbs and sugar so I would not recommend eating those.  Slow release energy foods is what you need to be eating so that you do not experience a low slump of sugar levels.

Cut out or cut down on processed foods and refined carbohydrates and sugary foods and fizzy drinks.  Eat low release energy foods like porridge, nuts, brown bread, fresh fruit and vegetables and drink more water.

Make an appointment to see your doctor to check your HbA1C blood sugar levels for diabetes, if that comes back normal, ask for a glucose test.  You may not have diabetes, but may have pre diabetes.
