Headache followed by numbness

For the last couple of weeks my husband has been experiencing a sharp stabbing headache in the front half of his head and temples, followed by a light-headed feeling and a tingling sensation in his limbs. The headaches only last a few seconds, but the tingling feeling lasts longer. He says this happens to him 4 or 5 times a day. He is in his mid-30's and does weight lifting 2 or 3 times a week and takes a lot of supplements and shakes along with his lifting. Could this just be associated with the supplements or is it something more serious that we should get checked out?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms could be due to the supplements and this should be stopped first. His BP should be checked before and after weight lifting. He should undergo a treadmill test. There is a possibility that he has TIAs or transient ischemic attacks. It could also be benign intracranial hypertension or a space occupying lesion of the brain like tumor or aneurysm. Please do not ignore this and get this investigated by a neurologist ASAP and also by your PCP.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

tthe numbness he is experiancing could be muscle strain or nerve damage in his neck where he is doing the weight lifting, hense the pains in his head i damaged all my neck nerves i had all those symptoms plus floaters in my eyes,my doctor gave me anti inflammorty tabs and told me to rest, maybe your husband should give the weights a miss for a week or two.

yes your body makes what you need mostly. you can die from taking too many supps. also sounds like could be a mild stroke not to scare you. but get him to a dr quick. supps mess with your body and can make you very sick. strokes cause tingling too along with head pain. pkease don't wait. go asap or to the er.
