Heart Jerking/Stopping Sensation

Every day, sometimes multiple times an hour, for the past week, I've been feeling my heart physically jerk in my chest. It feels like it is freezes for a second or two, and then keeps going like normal. It makes my throat and chest constrict when it does this.

Should I be worried about this? It's an extremely uncomfortable sensation, and there are seemingly no triggers for it.

"Should I be worried about this?"
Yes, to rule out the worst.

Because it is sporadic, you should want a wearable monitor rather than an ER visit with a normal EKG. Either can distinguish between benign PVCs on one hand and heart block on the other. The worst case is fulminant myocarditis and SCD. If you read news, you should have heard of myocarditis.

PVCs are the most likely. You didn't mention your age, which is important.

It is hard to know whether it is something temporary or not. It sounds like ectopic beats which can be very unpleasant and can happen with anxiety. Anxiety is not just psychological; it has real physical effects. However, if you have not had this before and you are suffering from the throat tightening, I would advise you see a doctor at an urgent care or A&E (ER) today so that they can rule out anything else
