Hip and Lower Back numbness and pain!

21, F. This only happened last night, I kept waking up to my hip being asleep (the one I was laying on at the time) so I'd turn and it would happen again. I blew it off as I was seriously tired. And then woke up with the numbness. It has continued all day even going into my lower back around my tail bone making a ring of numbness and pain around my waist. I even resulted in going commando for extra comfort.  My hips have a inner soreness, and sore to the touch, and warm but not to the touch. It's almost like an injured feeling, And when it's numb it feels like I'm not even touching my hip. It's a horrible erry feeling, I'm worried it might be something with either my weight or spinal disks,  (Things Google told me) Any help would be greatly appreciated, any ways to stop the numbness or any ideas of what it may be. Thank you!

This sounds like a textbook case of lumbar radiculopathy. You can engage in some self guided physical therapy at home. You can find exercises and stretches on YouTube. NSAIDS, such as Motrin, will reduce pain and inflammation. Also try alternating ice and heat. Most cases of radiculopathy respond well to these treatments. If you begin to have symptoms that include loss of bladder or bowel function you should seek treatment from a physician immediately. Resting and staying in bed can make it worse. The gold standard to diagnose lumbar radiculopathy would be an MRI. However, most insurances will not cover the cost until you have had six weeks of physician guided conservative treatment. If you get into a good home exercise routine/stretching, and engage in self care, the issue will likely resolve on its own. I wish you all the best.
