Good news and bad news.

The one thing that I was afraid, it was going to happen.
That you would be prescribed cholesterol lowering drugs!

It would not be ethical for me to say NOT to take them,
however, please look into it very carefully.

I have never come across one single (legitimate) study yet, which shows it helps in cases like yours.
The down side of taking these types of meds is potentially very serious.

And TSH is NOT the preferred test for accurate thyroid function indication!!!
It would be a test I would never rely on personally.
I will be happy to give you details.

Talking about putting your mind at ease, lol! Sorry to do this to you, but I  felt to let you know as these could impact your health for life.

Once again, the doctor states that all the tests came back fine. He could not find anything wrong with me. GUUURRRRR! I should be happy, but I am tired of having "seizures".   I go to have a sleep study done on the 23rd of December, so maybe they will figure something out. I know that does not explain the "seizures", but maybe something, anything will help.
Thank you for putting up with me and helping me! It really does help me.

One more thing to consider looking into:

An inadequate GABA response may lead to an extended state of excitement and electrical stimulation in the brain.

GABA deficiency can be linked to anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, seizure disorders like epilepsy, and numerous other conditions including addiction, headaches, Parkinson's Syndrome, and cognitive impairment. GABA's role is that of the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter and functions by down-regulating neurotransmission.

Low AST levels in the blood are considered normal.
Low BUN levels are not usually associated with any particular issues
and it cannot be diagnostic of anything on its own.
The BAND at 0, Idn what it relates to.

Did you rule out unregulated or under-regulated hypothyroidism, which has high cholesterol as one of its main symptoms?
Remember Free T3, Free T4 AND reverse T3 testing?
You may need to tweak your thyroid medication upwards a bit if your labs show subclinical hypo, but I think natural desiccated thyroid is better in the long run.
You may have to fight it out with your doctor(s), who might be "sold" on synthetic thyroid meds and "flawed" T3, T4 and TSH tests, because that is what they are taught AND recommended to order for their patients!
This is plain rubbish, to my opinion!

Seizure like symptoms? Hmm, you need an EEG unless you had one already.
Things you can do on your own. You can do a trial of powder MSM, which might help lessen inflammation and improve oxygen transport, take fish oil- best quality for omega-3, consume avocados to control cholesterol and improve HDL/LDL ratio, consume coconut oil for same and to supply quality fuel to the brain, meditate to reduce stress (listen to YouTube video clips for this,if unable to meditate on your own), do conscious nasal breathing for several minutes, multiple times daily. (visit the normal breathing website for details)
You're not going anywhere anytime soon, because you have a higher purpose my dear.
Your adrenals may be a little overwhelmed because of your stress,
but you need a holistic practitioner to help you with this.
Conventional doctors do not recognize this as an established medical issue
until it becomes a true crisis.

No magic, just small miracles, which take place around us all the time,
but easy to miss, because we're pre-occupied with too many other things usually, to pay attention, lol!

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Blessings.

I was recently taken to the hospital with seizure like symptoms. I had a spinal tap and got some of the results and some of them concern me.
My AST, BUN were low (AST13, BUN 7) My BAND was 0.  Because of the holidays, my doctor will not be in the office until Monday, but I am a mess. I have looked some of it up online and am freaking out!  4 years ago my mother passed away of liver cancer and I am scared!!!!
I am 40 years old, have high cholestrol (in October), had my thyroid removed in 2004, smoke, have had similar spells of seizure like symtoms before with no finding in any tests done!
HELP PLEASE!!!!
I figured you helped me out before, you could do your "magic" and help me again :}

I am having a sleep study done due to other problems.   THANK YOU for helping me and putting my mind at ease!

You're welcome.
BTW the TSH to my opinion is the least useful test to determine thyroid function.
Your thyroid function may not be properly regulated because of this.
Let me know if need details.

Other than that, a daily dose of gratitude, that your husband is in remission,
that you are in relatively good health and that you do have a job, might help you process things a little better and with less stress.

God Bless.

My Trigltcerides are 125 (fine).   I am not sure how to do the Abs Baso...It just states normal range is 0.00 to 0.10 TH/UL, it also states under it..Automated Dif- Yes
I did research on my charts and I have had high LDL since 2013.
My TSH are normal range 1.09
The reason for the worry is my husband is in remission from cancer and I am the only one working and I DO NOT need to be sick! I guess I am a worry wart and am looking to be calmed down before I go to the doctor.  I must add that we have to best doctor around and I am hoping he gives me good news.
I read a lot on this and it states hypothyroidism, maybe that is the cause and he will up my dose on meds for it.
THANK YOU for helping me out!!!

Hey Cappomom.

Whatever you're doing is working fairly well for you.
Your total cholesterol is fine-do not let your doctor convince you of the opposite- as lower levels are associated with much greater issues than
a little higher levels than yours.
Your HDL could be a little higher and your LDL a little lower.
I take everyday at least 1/2 avocado, which helps with improving the cholesterol ratio ( total cholesterol divided by HDL). I'm saying this, having noted that there was no mention of triglycerides (20% of tryglycerides are added to LDL and HDL to determine total cholesterol) which are also fine at 125 as I just calculated.

Your microalbumin is fine, and the absolute basophil seems a bit high but without a lab range, I can't tell for sure.   Can you also include the unit of measurement? In the US it the ref. range is : Absolute: 0-0.19 x 103 cells/microL
If it is high, it is indicative of possible allergic reaction or infection, but you'll need to discuss this with your doctor.

Hope this helps, but please note that, my comments are not intended to replace medical advice.

Best wishes
