Kind of embarrassing, but hoping someone can shed some light.

Hello there! I am having some embarrasing symptoms. I am unsure if I should call and make an appointment or not - I have told my doctor in the past and she simply told me to take a laxative, kind of dismissed it all, but I don't think it's just constipation.....

little bit of history: 29 years old, have 2 kids, non-smoker, take wellbutrin and adderall (for adhd) daily. Recent rapid weight loss, but attributed to adderall, healthy diet, and excersize...family history:maternal great grandmother had colon cancer, great uncle (her son) also had colon cancer, mother has history of colon polyps, 32 year old aunt (mom's sis) has colon issues.

In 1998, at age 19, I was diagnosed with mono, and then thyroiditis.
Had preecclampsia with first child. Gained very large amount of weight.
Lost weight, had second child. Second child is now 5.

I now weigh 125 pounds at 5'9". Weight loss was intentional, but lately I keep losing more and more. Not intentionally. In about 10 months, I have lost about 50 pounds.

Here are my symptoms:

cryptic tonsilitis (but throat culture was normal, but I have constant swollen tonsils, sore throat, etc)
mouth sores/cold sores (had it for years)

never had hemmroids, even in pregnancies. but now having these issues (wellbutrin is known to cause constipation, but i've been on it for 3 years now and didn't have as bad a problem:)

sometimes narrow stools
mucus in stool
nothing but mucus when trying to use the bathroom
constant heavy feeling, extreme discomfort
constantly feel like I need to use the bathroom
pain in lower left abdomen
pain when passing stool, not always but sometimes, but when I have it, it's severe
vertigo, even when sitting sometimes
fatigue, sometimes extreme
cold chills
migraines

Recently, went to the ER with lower left ab pain. Apendix and gallbladder were fine.
But when the doctor came in he told me they saw a hemangioma on my liver.
he also said "you are extremely backed up and you need to take a laxative."

I agree with stevensmom14....don't let some condescending doc tell you this is normal. It's not.  The vertigo symptoms and migraines sound neurological and the other sounds gastro....find youself a good internist..with a subspecilty in gastro or neuro....and don't mess around with anyone that is not going to take you seriously....let us know how it works out for you....take good care

Sorry for the above message it was sent by accident. What I was trying to say was that these AREN'T everyday symptoms and if I were you, I wouldn't be going back Dr. Laxative. You need to find a GOOD Dr. Maybe Gastro Doc but whoever it is, DONT accept "the standard pat on the back - oh your fine honey" BS alot of Docs are known for. Take care of YOU! I'll look into this further (I know someone who had some of the symptoms u have) but make an appointment with the Dr. You are in my prayers for a speedy diagnosis and a return of good health. Take care.
