Kinda of worried... female problems

I am 22 and have alway had regular to the day menstral cycles. I was on birth control for a few months and had to stop due to finances the first of january.  My periods went back to their normal cycle.  About 2 weeks ago I experienced my on my left side around the area my overies would be.  It intesified but after 2 days it went away and I decided it was just something to do with my ovilation, though it had never hurt like that or as bad or as long before.  about a week before I started my period I had a small amont of discharge that had a viniger aroma. I started my period saturday may 1, and just like always it started on time and a moderate flow.  but the pain started again.  I hadn't been paying it much mind, and yesterday my flow incresed to a heavy flow as always, and the pain increased.  my periods generally last 5 to 6 days.  today it completly stopped, and the pain is still present.  At one point today I went to the pee, and I was having alittle difficulty emptying my bladder.  and with the sudden stop, I felt to see if there was anything abnormal and I feel a strange mass like thing if I bared down, and i kind of scratched out it and it had no feeling, and bleed when I scratched at it, and the blood didn't smell like period blood... whats going on? sugjestions on what is wrong if anything or am I just worried over nothing... please help

Most of the things I discussed have gone away, however my side and what I'm pretty sure are my ovaries still hurt about every other day and especially after strainious activity.  I've also notice a loss of appetite and some diarrea when I do eat very much... I'm not sure if it's all related or not but I'd rather be sure something is wrong before I go to the doctor with way...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For such kind of pain, pelvic inflammatory disease and ovarian cysts need to be ruled out.
This is a generic term used to indicate inflammation of female reproductive organs (uterus, ovary, etc) and caused by viral, fungal, parasitic or most often bacterial infections. You need to go for blood test, urine test, histopathological examination and Ultrasound Pelvis. If the tests come positive, you have to undergo laproscopic diagnosis for confirmation.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I have had pain in my ovaries that are worse than other months.   Possibly a small cyst?  I would imagine not ovulating for a while due to the birth control could be related to this.   A warm heating pad helps me.  In regards to your scratching a small mass, it is possible to gets cysts, boils or ingrown hairs in your vaginal area.  I have had them occasionally and it did freak me out the first time I saw blood but they're normal.  Your hormones do change after going off the pill and this could be another symtom of that.   I am not sure regarding your difficulty urinating but if it is a continuous problem, better check with your doctor.  If the pain in your ovaries continues to get worse, definitely check with your GYN doc.

Not sure about all of your questions...but when you mentioned the pain on yourleft side that lasted 2 days, i get it all the time. i believe its just you ovulating. mine is pretty painful, and will switch from my right side one month, to my left side another month. it is normal, and i just take advil or whatever works best for you. i also know that discharge with a faint aroma is normal before your period. is the pain you have during your period cramps? aching? i get both while i am on mine- very painful. not sure about the problems with trying to pee. sorry.
