numbness in right side of face
My son was hit on the right side of his face 2 years ago and it has been numb ever since. It has been by his right cheek,right mouth area . It has gone sometimes up to his head and by his eye. He has been to a dr. for it and nothing can be done. Does anyone know anything more???

It sounds like he damaged the maxillary branch of his trigeminal nerve. sometimes the nerve will grow back at a rate of 2mm/month but with crush injuries this isn't as likely. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done in this situation and patients have to suffer with it for long periods of time.
