Single eye puffiness / bulgy

In June 2010 i noticed that my left eye had a big bag under it. I didnt pay much attention to it until the time it started feeling bulgy as well. Since then my eye is puffy every day and the bulginess varies from 0.5 - 2 mm. When it grows very big it hurts as well. I have done thyroid, mri, mra in addition to ct contrast examination to see the veins behind my eye although everything comes clear. The problem persists and i dont know what else to do. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Maria

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Puffiness of one eye is usually due to a localized cause like infection, abrasion of cornea, foreign body in eye, maxillary sinusitis of same side, lacrimal gland infection, infection of hair follicle of the eye lid etc.
One sided puffiness below the eyelid could be due to dental infection, cellulitis, lymphedema (due to faulty lymph channel), or sinusitis affecting the maxillary or cheek bone. It could also be due to infection of the tear gland or due to loose skin.
Consult an eye specialist soon. Take care!

Hi again and thanks for the welcoming,

Just wanted to add that not only i have consulted one eye specialist but three in my country and now my case is being examined in Fedorov clinic, Moscow. I have done all ophtalmological tests more than once and we always reach a dead end. The last guess was that due to a fall i had last December, a fracture let air come in the back of my eye hence irritate it. However the last ct of orbits i did showed nothing as such. So i m back to square one again. Any help would b greatly appreciated!!!
