Do I have anemia?

Hi... I am a 23 year old female, vegetarian.

I recently have been passing out, feeling nauseous, and tired all the time.  Generally feel like I have the flu every day and I am having trouble concentrating.

I have had two blood tests done, one in February and one most recent in October.  My doctor tested my iron, B12, and folic acid in February... but my latest doctor thinks that my fainting is "nothing" and chose not to test it again.

My levels in February are as follows...
Folic Acid:  41.2
B12:  288
Iron:  8

Am I experiencing some form of anemia?

Hi.  :)  Thanks for your response.

My doctor refused to test me for anemia on my October blood work.  He thinks I have nothing wrong, and doesn't believe that I am passing out.  :-/

My blood pressure is relatively low, and the last couple of visits to the doc have hovered around 115/60.  My blood sugar came back at 94 (on a range from 70-100).

The ferritin levels on my February workup say I should be anywhere from 30-145 (and I am at 8)... Folic Acid range is 3-17 (and I am 41.2)... and B12 range is 200-900 (and I am at 288).

Hi
Thanks for the post! How are you now?

Your symptoms could be due to anemia. A report of February is of no help. What was the report in October. Also please give the reference range your lab is using. Other than anemia your symptoms could be due to low or high BP, diabetes, fatigue, stress and improper sleep.

I think you should discuss this with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining and results of various tests. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
