Unexplained allergic reaction

For the past five years, suddenly I can feel hives starting, and they become huge welts.  My blood pressure drops, my pulse is hardly detectable, my face and lips swell, and once I became unconscious.  By the time the ambulance got there, they could barely get a pressure or pulse.  They said in a couple minutes, it would have been too late.  I carry an epipen, and when I use it, I can get to the hospital before it is too late.  I have every test they can think of, I have no food allergies that seem to apply.  Once, I was playing ball with my son, another changing a tire, another standing talking to someone, once I was driving, and yesterday I was at a basketball practice (coaching).  Do you have any ideas?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Look back and see—there must be something in common-dust, animal dander, some flowers in area, particular trees in the area—something that is common to all attacks of hives. Apart from the normal allergens which you must have been tested for—possibility of H pylori infection and Crohn’s disease should be looked into. In Crohn’s arthritis and skin symptoms may precede actual development of gut symptoms. Please discuss with your treating doctor. Take care!

My idea is quite simply to see another doctor (and if necessary, keep swapping) until you get a diagnosis.
I have worked in a team of extremely well educated and well trained professionals (at the top of their game) for several years now and there are examples of individuals looking so hard at a problem that they miss the obvious - It happens on a daily basis.
Or as you may have heard... "Can't see the wood for the trees"
You probably need a doctor who is willing to start from fresh.. (but these are as rare as rocking horse ****)
Take care!
