confused about results

i posted before about my fiance having hemoroids(if thats actually what they are) w- bleeding and pain.he has had these bumps in and out for several years and never bothered him and never went away or changed size for the past three weeks he has been in alot of pain and wrote on here.took some advise from three comments and finally got him to at least the e.r.......BUT the doctor that saw him couldnt of been but 27 or so and i think was too busy to pay close enough attention to all of his details because the e.r was packed, and did a quick finger exam and said he had hemroids gave him a script for a suppostory (thats it) and sent him home. i dont believe thats that is all. and now he is in more pain than ever and the "hemroids" are 10 times the size he is crying alot because of the pain and he is a contractor so he says his tool belt on his hips really makes it worse.he is very hesitant on going back to see another doctor because of the last visit.SO any input on what would have made the "hemroids" huge and worse and what to do?  Thank You

Hello,

Hemorrhoids are varicosities and inflammation of veins in the rectum and anus. They are caused and increased by increased straining during bowel movements, by constipation or diarrhea, hypertension, obesity, excessive consumption of alcohol or caffeine and portal hypertension.

Give plenty of fiber in the diet and ask your fiancé to avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of water and fruit juice. Also ask him to get plenty of exercise as this helps keeps the bowels regular.Excessive consumption of caffeine and alcohol also has to be avoided.

Also since a lot of pain is there,so it can be strangulated or prolapsed piles.I feel that early intervention by a surgeon is mandatory in that case.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional queries.

You need to find a better doctor.  The ER is a good place for emergencies, and I know he is in pain, but try to get in with a regular Internal Medicine doctor for regular visits and soon.  If they need him to see a specialist, they will arrange it.  If they can take care of it, again, they will.  In the long run, the care should be more well handled and more cost effective.  I'm so sorry.  Sometimes people 'poke' fun, but the term 'pain in the behind' isn't dubbed that for no reason.

Good luck and please keep us posted.  Pictures not necessary. (LOL)
