Woman problems

Hello. My name is Christine and im really hoping someone can help me. I have been to the doctor for the problems Ive been having several times, and they cant seem to find out whats wrong with me. I went to the doctor the first time for pain that I was having on my lower left side, near my groin, the pain feels like excruciating period cramps. My doctor gave me a pap smear and i was then told that is was abnormal. i was then referred to a specialist for this.  Im supposed to see them in a month. But in the mean time the pain wont go away, and its gotten worse. It hurts really bad in my pelvic area, and it hurts in my lower back. I also have really bad pain that goes down my left leg. Also, my lymph nodes in my groin are and in my neck are very swollen. The doctor told me today that Im in the 2nd change of cancerous cells. Why arent they seeing me right away for this? Im just so frusterated. I keep getting sick also. I'll get a really bad stuffy nose, and a horrible cough that hurts sooo bad. As soon as I get rid of it, like a week later it comes back. I keep asking my doctor why I my body cant fight this off, and she told me its because Im a smoker. ********! My immune system isnt working properly and I want to know why. Im stating to wonder if Doctors really help. I am in constant agonizing pain, and constantly sick. I feel like Im screaming in a room filled with people and no one hears me. What do I do? Please help.

Demand a CT scan--they are very expensive but will show better what is going on in the pelvis. I just spent 6 months of complaining about left lower ab pain into my groin to end up in the ER with a giant kidney stone. My ob/gyn told me most pelvis pain is never diagnosed--so I guess that meant too bad...

Eventually the pain moved to my back and I suspected kidney stones (after a doctor told me I didn't know where my own kidney was!). What I know now is that I should have complained much more--even exaggerated my pain to get the tests I needed. I have an extremely high threshold for pain and give way too much power to doctors! As a friend just told me--authority does not mean truth!

Good luck!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

The groin pain and lower back pain can be due to pelvic inflammatory disease. Pelvic inflammatory disease is an infection of the uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries.
PID occurs when bacteria move upward from a woman's vagina or cervix to her uterus or fallopian tubes. Many organisms are responsible for PID,gonnorhea and Chlamydia being the commonest ones.

Second possibility is of a malignancy of the reproductive organs/blood/lungs(you being a smoker)etc.Your pap smear, swollen lymph nodes(can be swollen in infections also) ,cough and severity of pain are suggesting this.

I sincerely advise you to consult a gynecologist/oncologist for these symptoms and get yourself evaluated.Tone os investiagations like complete blood profile,x-rays,CT scans,MRI scans, biopsy and tumor markers are needed to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.
