Wow thanks so much Gretchen, its funny you say that I did see a chiropractor a few months back as I suffer with lower back pain and as was suffering with my neck, he did an x ray and I have no disc whatsoever in the very bottom of my spine and my neck is also curved backwards, but every time he manipulated the area it made my headaches worse and so he advised me to leave it alone! what else can I do? any further advice would be much appreciated x
You're soooo welcome!I had 7 months not knowing what my body was going through, and not one specialist could tell me. I was a cripple! You have got to see an "Upper Cervical" chiropractor. Regular chiropractors are helpful to a point, but they only temporarily fix the problem. They're adjusting the after-effect of the top 2 bones in the neck being out of place. They generally are not specialists in that kind of manipulation.
I will tell you one thing; if your neck is backward, it means some kind of trauma happened to it years ago.... If you get it corrected, you will get instant relief of many of your problems. Mostly your head aches! Your curve may never go back to normal, but it won't matter. You will be amazed at what crazy things can happen when the nerve bundle gets pinched. It was like I had MS and Parkinsons - but didn't!
This Dr. only did 1 treatment, and it has stayed in place so far. My whole body stucture has been adjusting ever since. I have never experienced the new position of my hips rotation back to the correct posistion! It's so cool.
My accident happened at age 3, I am 47 now. The Doc didn't adjust one other bone in my body, it all followed suit down the line and corrected itself!
I'm excited for you! Keep me posted!

One more thing, ear ringing is very common with this problem, as well as virtigo. My Doc said that anxiety can come on during healing, as well as before hand, but that it will subside. So, apparently, it is all connected somehow.??
Anything a disease can do to destroy your nerves and block information to the brain, a pinched-off "nerve bundle" can match it symptom for symptom.
I so hope this is the solution, I have booked an appt on Monday, will let you know how I go thank you for your help, you may well literally be a lifesaver x
Thank you for your he, hope you get well soon too :-)
Wouldn't that be great? Can't wait to hear... If my amazing husband hadn't met my doc, I would probably never know why I was becoming a cripple with no disease!
I just think of what I could have done with all of the thousands of dollars I've spent over the decades chasing a disease that didn't exist!... no more waste now!

Gretchen, are you in UK? Which chiropractor did you see?
After a half-a-dozen Dr.'s, blood tests for every disease, x-rays, cat-scans, and MRI's, nothing is "wrong" with us! WHAT? Tell me why I can't walk!!!! Someone - PLEASE!!! My life is ruined, and it's so lonely on the couch watching life go on with out me! In time, the Dr.'s start to look at me as if they had finally come to realize it's psychosomatic, because there's nothing officially "wrong" with me! In fact, the Rheumatologist I waited 2 months to see, said that the head tremors was from stress, and I should see a psychiatrist!.... That will be $350 today!
My symptoms would come and go with severity and length of time, but they were getting more and more debilitating. My thigh muscles and knees were so weak at times, that I could barely stand or walk with out help, or a walker and wheelchair. I had head tremors like Parkinson's, and full-on body quakes that would vary from 30 minutes to a week. Some days I could walk great, then, BOOM!, I'm down again. I only felt intense pain at the base of my skull and upper neck. Sometimes I would have extreme pain in my right hip joint.
What became my solution and abolishment of all my symptoms that the Dr.'s don't even know about? It's not pills or nutrition ~ it has to do with the neck bones! What I'd like to see happen, is after all their tests come back negative, the Dr. should ask, "Have you ever been in an accident, or have fallen hard?" (Which is most common, but other things could have caused it). The next statement..... "You need to see an Upper Cervical Chiropractor to see if your neck bones, at the base of the skull, have been knocked out of place. Many of your symptoms can be caused by the nerves being pinched off and unable to communicate to the brain."
And I'm not kidding! It can mimic; Parkinson's, Lyme, Arthritis, Lupus, MS, and even seizures can happen!
I'm here to promote the awareness of the practice called "Upper Cervical Chiropractic". My x-rays revealed that my neck is actually curved backward, which is what had caused the scoliosis in my back! And, of the 2 upper bones, one was tilted and the other was turning - pinching off the nerves that work my legs. It's been about 2 months after my adjustment, and I've have had none of those symptoms from that day forward!
Even if you have found that this is not the case for you, keep this in the back of your mind so that when you're talking to a distraught friend, you may have their solution! Youtube has some information on this....
All the best wishes, Gretchen
