Possible anxiety from psychedelics?

I’m a 19 year old male college student who is in very good physical health. About three weeks ago I took psychedelic mushrooms and had a relatively “bad trip”. Ever since this incident I have been experiencing symptoms of what I assume to be are anxiety. These include disassociation, panic, racing mind, tightness in throat, overthinking, among others. I have never experienced this type of thing before and have always been pretty healthy mentally. I’m aware psychedelics can have effects for a time after their use but I’m not sure what to make of that. At the current time I have no responsibilities, I’m stress free and have nothing to have anxiety about. Any guidance or advice would be appreciated

Mushrooms can indeed have prolonged effects. For people who are socially anxious and trying to feel connected to others, they can actually be helpful along with therapy, opening the door to more empathy and linking to their fellow humans.  Possibly for others, not so helpful. You could ask your doctor how long this might last, or even ask a psychiatrist that uses mushrooms in his or her practice what to expect in terms of a timeline for this reaction to go away.
