Her physician should be ordering some not so common labs at this point. For example, serum viral panel, serum immunology markers, CRP, ANA, complement system labs, etc. Do you know if she has had any of these labs done?
All of her other tests are normal, she doesnt have hepatitis either and yes she has seen a Rheumatologist. What should we do now? Her Dr is stumped!!
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You probably mean a high RA factor. High levels of rheumatoid factor can be found in severe rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), scleroderma, Sjögren's syndrome, and vasculitis, infections like Hepatitis-C, chronic diseases like tuberculosis, mononucleosis, syphilis, and malaria, leukemia, liver disorders and endocarditis.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Something autoimmune is definitely going on.
No symptoms at all? Any other labs abnormal?
This factor can be elevated with other conditions and diseases as well, i.e. SLE, Infectious Mono, Chronic Hepatitis, Chronic viral infections, Leukemia, Bacterial Endocarditis, Systemic Sclerosis, Dermtomyositis, etc.
She already saw a Rheumatologist? Correct?
