Silly injury, constant rib pain

A few days ago (this is going to sound silly), I was reaching for something under my bed. It was just out of range of my fingertips and I decided 'If I just exhale a little bit, I can squeeze myself under the bed far enough to reach'.

As soon as I exhaled and slid my chest under the bed railing, I heard and felt a pop in my rib cage. I quickly backed out and laid still for a bit, my rib area began to hurt.

This is now 2 days since it happened and it STILL hurts. Strangely enough it's not a constant pain. It hurts depends on which way i twist, stretch or sit. If I inhale deep, the pain is there. I don't feel anything abnormal when I touch the area but if I bend a little bit, the pain hits.

It's on the lower right half of my rib cage. I'm hoping just pulled a muscle or something, but I have no bruising, no sensitivity, no visible sign of damage.

So my question is, did I possibly injure something inside (like my liver) or is it merely a pulled muscle/tendon? I'm a bit worried about it and would like to hear someone else's opinion.

I have had many ribs "out" The chiropractor can put them back in for you. That is my guess.

Sounds like mine as when I went to the chiropractor they are able to realign it. I have done it 3 times now.  So watch, no more being Xploited by your girlfriend.

just checking in...
I did get to see my doc and after listening to my chest decided to xray my lungs & ribs. havnt heard back from her in about a week.
A week after the original post I reinjured my side which leads me to believe it may be a slipped/cracked rib.
3 days after the reinjury, I was horsing around and my girlfriend straddled my chest and accidently pushed straight down full weight on my rib....like magic 90% of the pain went away almost instantly.
To date, the only time i feel slight pain is when i sneeze or stretch backwards with my arms up.
Once I get a hold of my doc with whay caused my injury/pain I'll post and hopefully close this.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Since you heard a sound, it could be a rib fracture. An X-ray can confirm it. Though there is no specific treatment for it, just avoid strenuous activity, lifting weight etc until it heals. Usually anti-inflammatory is prescribed. Sometimes yes, a liver or spleen injury does occur and this can be known by an ultrasound.
Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!

Done that too .But I vomited afterwards!  You have pulled the gristle that connects the rib to the spine. Gets better slowly without help.   But as I have done this several times being a ballet dancer I go to a chiropractor who has a wonderful way of re-aligning rib injuries.
