Hello it is possible that it could be celiac disease, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, appendicitis, or the most likely cause is gas. Most people aren't aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble. The way the colon is shaped and with the gas rising upward, when laying on the right side it gets trapped in the ascending and transverse sections of the colon and is not as easily expelled as it is when laying on the left side.
I recommend trying some OTC treatments like beano, gas X, prilosec, prevacid, Mylanta, mylox etc. for a few days. Don't eat or drink anything 2 hours prior to going to bed, and try laying on your left side or stomach for a little while each night when you first lay down. Avoid gas producing foods like beans, onions, etc. and limit milk products which can tend to cause stomach issues. I think by changing a few bedtime habits and taking some antacid or anti gas medication you will most likely get relief from your symptoms. I Hope This Works. Have A Nice Night!
Yeh it could be gas who's to know, but one thing i will say if it continues and you are getting no relief go to see a doctor at least they can get you to lye down and they can press on your tummy and see were the pain is and if they can feel anything and then you can take from there. The reason why i'm saying this is because i have experienced pain in my stomach area in the past and i had to get operated on.I hope it is nothing serious, but you can never be to sure.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It is difficult to diagnose such a pain on net. It can be due to chronic appendicitis, adhesions in the abdomen, gas, IBS, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease etc. It can also be a bad case of muscle pull. Pinched nerve is another possibility. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
