Sudden Shock in Lower left leg moving up the body

It lasts for less than a second but my whole body gets a jolt. The shock starts from left side of lower left leg. It happens once or twice a day while I am driving or sitting at work. It also happens in the night during sleep and wakes me up. I just getup, massage my left leg and give it a couple of tap, turn to other side and try to sleep. It usually occurs couple of more times before I am fast asleep.

I started using this site a few days back. I thought there are professionals who might read and reply. Any how, Thank you for your response but I do not understand any of the abbreviations used in your reply. I was looking for some reasoning for my symptoms if they are considered problematic at all. All I know is that sometimes it wakes me up. I honestly do not know what 'dx'ed' OR 'RRMS' or even 'MS' mean. Thank you once again for trying. Good luck and be Healthy.

I experience this sensation as well, also in my left leg.  I am dx'ed with RRMS for five years.  I'm unclear as to the intent of your post.  Did you have a question in regards to this symptom?  Are you dx'ed with or being evaluated for MS?
