Swelling / large bumps / hard tissue growing above eyebrows

Hello,

I'm growing bony protrusions above my eyebrows, almost like frontal bossing (see pic). I'm quite scared, although x-ray and blood tests have come back normal so far. I am currently waiting for an MRI, and the wait time could be awhile, so I am coming here for advice in the meantime.

The bumps have grown gradually and are hard like bone. However, some swelling in my right eye (the larger of the lumps) leads my family doctor to believe there may be tissue swelling as well. There is no pain, very slight sensation of pressure on the right bump.

Does anyone have any advice to reduce the size of the bumps or at least the additional swelling? It's a cosmetic nightmare and I haven't wanted to leave the house since they became noticably large a week ago.

I thought at first it could be a sinus issue (mybe allergies), but my family doctor has dismissed this and I have no symptons relating to sinusitus.

Lastly, if this turns out to be bone growth, has anyone undergone the surgery to have the bones sanded down? Did you recover okay?

Hopefully there's someone out there that can ease my anxiety while I wait awhile for this MRI.

Best,

Aaron

Not sure to be honest, but I have bone overgrowth on my feet! I have two protruding bumps on the side of my feet and have had both on the right foot removed and I recovered relatively quickly. It only took about a week before I was walking normally again (obviously your walking won't be hindered since it's not on your feet). I've heard bone pain is the worst pain, and the second and third days after the surgery were definitely the most painful. The only thing to worry about when it comes to that recovery would be scar tissue I would think, but I personally didn't have a problem with it. Good luck!
