Symptoms of Cushing's Disease
My 18 year old daughter has symptoms of Cushing's disease, but her bloodwork, urinalysis, and ct scan of her adrenal glands came back normal. They did not scan her pituitary gland. She has gained about 70 lbs. in the past two years, she has stria (purplish stretch marks), extreme fatigue, inability to tolerate heat, moodiness, etc. Is there another disease that mimics Cushing's?
Yes, she has been on thyroid meds since she was very young. We are both adopted and her biological mother underwent heart surgery while pregnant with her. The doctors believe that this is the cause of her problems because she has problems with all of her glands. She also does not have any ovaries.
Has her thyroid been checked? People who are hypothyroid have these symptoms also.
My sister has cushings from a tumor on her pituitary gland. She has had this and the symptoms for 10+ years and the doctors/surgeons will not take out the tumor because her test are not consistent. She is a mess and has not led a normal life the last 10+ years. I hope your doctors can fingure all of this out.
