Treatment for Addison Disease

Hai,
Could anyone help me to know is there any treatment available for addison disease.
the person who is affected by this disease has to suffer for life long ?
the person is undergoing some medicine but once when he taking the tablets the ankles are getting swollen and he couldn't able to walk by independenly.will this occur for life long, will he able to walk freely.
any advance treatement is available
please help me

Make sure they are also getting the minerals and supplements they need to maintain proper electrolyte levels. Usually someone with Addison's needs to take salt supplements. The doctor who prescribes the hydrocortisone should be also prescribing the other supplements and medications as needed.

And they should be checked for other autoimmune diseases.

During illnesses the person should be under closer supervision by a doctor because complications can arise.

my maternal aunts have it and they are on dexamethadone(not sure if I spelled it correctly)
I have not heard if they have had any side effects.
