Since I was 9-11 years old I started noticing infrequent but recurring dizziness and lightheadedness upon standing and the inability to stand for longer than five minutes without my feet hurting, getting itchy, turning purple, and feeling swollen.
I have struggled for about 5 years with unexplained pain in my back (upper and lower), hips, pelvis, neck, knees, and feet. In the past year it has become clear that those pains are primarily due to muscles and it's increasingly common for me to wake up with pain in my neck or back that make it so it's nearly impossible to function that day and usually for atleast another two days after. In the past month I have had two instances where the skin around my knees and around my thighs felt irritated to the touch. If anything brushed or touched against those spots it is painful as if the skin was rubbed or hit too much. I chalked it up to being apart of my Sensory Processing Disorder. But within an hour this evolved into feeling like those spots were sore. I should say that there were NO bruising or marks on my skin. Quickly the sensitivity and muscle pain spread and soon even moving my leg hurt. This eventually led to a panic attack and continued to feel similarly the next day, and a family member noticed some very slight swelling.
The second time I experienced this was a week ago. This time it had started with feeling slightly sore and having my toe be really stiff and almost numb. The skin sensitivity was not as strong this time but the pain was strongest around my knee (mostly the inside) and under my thigh. I could not lift my knee without the pain cramping, strongest under my thigh and the back of my calf. This pain was focused on the inside of my leg-medial to my other leg. It wasn't as hard to walk but it lasted until early the next morning. I had a potentially ASD induced meltdown the night it started, so I don't remember much of how it felt the rest of the night. But when I woke up the next morning it was gone.
Lastly, in the past 6 months I have had an increased amount of fatigue, strongest at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. There are days when it's not so bad, but there are others where I am uncontrollably falling asleep in my classes. Generally I do not feel all that tired until suddenly I can't keep my head up or my eyes open, and I find myself drifting in and out of sleep. Most of the time I can pull out of it when the bell rings or if there is a sudden loud noise, but not always. My therapist noted that I tend to have a very VERY active brain even when I am sleeping and that that might be the cause, however I am not convinced.
Does anybody have any ideas? Suggestions?
