unexplained abdominal pain

Hi for the last about 2 years I have had severe abdominal pain. The drs have ruled out polycistic ovary disease, endometriosis. I have had cysts pop that have leaked blood in my abdomen before and the is surprisingly painful, but this pain is different. I have had a colonoscopy and it showed nothing. I have also had an ultrasound and exploratory surgery and it all shows nothing. The gyn did a pelvic exam (one of many I might add!) to try and recreate the pain! sounds fun I know! He pushed on my ovaries and that hurt a little but then he pushed on my uterus and that hurt! He then pushed harder and I almost fell off the table!!!! He can not find a reason for the pain! He says the only way to do anything is to remove my uterus. We are reluctant to do that because I am 27 and have no children but would like to one day. I am starting to get really frustrated and scared! Does anyone know what this might be!!!!

Did your doctor try an EGD? It is when then put a tube down your esophagus to examine the upper abdomen...you are mildly sedated, of course. I had one and they discovered the reason for my abdominal pain.

Hi there,

Do you recall if there was anything going on at the time that the pain started? It sounds to me that they have done the cancer checks, but way of colonoscopy and ultrasounds (provided you had the trans vaginal/pelvic ultrasound that thoroughly checks all of your reproductive organs), so I think you can probably rule anything like that out.

The sex question in the comment above is an interesting one, because I absolutely think it's possible to "bruise" internal components during sexual activity, which may have happened initially and caused whatever is hurting to become very sensitive to pressure and irritation. I have had that happen to what I believe is either my left ovary, or the left wall of my cervix, and trust me, it's very painful!

Might be worth getting a second opinion from another GYN, never hurts.

do you have sex often? and if you have recently it might of tore something in there i would recommend don't have sex and take a pain reliever and see how you feel in a week if that does not work have a doctor look inside to see if there is a problem because taking it out is a little to far and get checked for cancer i dont want to scare but i would get checked for that if the pain does not go away in a week i hope you feel better
