Actually posting on behalf of someone.
My fiancee's a mid 30's male, on Friday afternoon (between noon and 2) he started having intermittent but frequent muscle spasms in his hamstrings and also developed a headache that escalated into a migraine rapidly. He came home and took excedrin and aspirin.
When I came home about 6 hours later we started trying ice and heat. Warm water soaks seem to reduce the spasms but they do still occur and the headache has decreased in severity but has sustained continuously also. He's now been in this condition with no relief about 36 hours and doesn't seem to be improving. The spasms happen every 3 - 5 mins, with a series of small spasms about about 30 secs apart, then a minute or 2 and some larger spasms 90 - 120 secs apart. 3-5 mins rest and cycle starts again.
He was diagnosed with sciatica several years ago, and though he stretches occasionally he doesn't do so regularly or daily as advised. He works a largely sedentary job and is largely sedentary outside of work. Lastly he joined a bowling league a couple weeks ago which he goes to practice for once a week. He did not complain of strange or more pain than expected after the practices but he may have been having back pain then and didn't say anything.
What can we do to stop the spasms and relieve the headache permanently?
Thanks.
