very worried about possible brain problems, please read

Hello, i'm a 21 year old male whose very afraid that I may have a brain aneurysm or brain tumor.  I do suffer from anxiety and feel somethin is wrong with me alot, but I really do feel something is wrong with my brain. I have stiff necks, fatigue, feel that vision changed (even though eye doctor said it stayed the same from 3 years ago), random headaches, ringing in the ears, and sometimes weakness and dizziness, but not always. I was wondering if these symptoms should be checked out.  There is no history of these things in my family but I'm worried very much.  I went to the eye doctor a month ago and he said he didn't see anything but I'm very worried, plesae read and respond. Thank you

I know it may seem like common sense, but most times if you are tossing and turning a lot when you sleep, that could be a big cause... most times it's good to stretch it out. Of course it could be a warning sign like that of meningitis; however, I would think you be starting to notice other symptoms. Did you see your dr. and ask his opinion?

Hello Pixie, Yes I understand completely that I suffer from anxiety and could probably be considered a hypochondriac, but I just don't feel right. I was wondering some things.  What were your symptoms that made you get checked out? Were they very painful too, or just subtle? Also, How did you go about getting checked out and how was it diagnosed?  I would appreciate if you could respond to these, because I need it! Thanks so much

Don't worry I'm crazy too, we all are to some extent. And honestly, nothing is more frustrating than feeling like something is wrong and having no one take you seriously. I did start getting periodical headaches around June of 04, and I thought it was stress from school, yada... by July they were practically everyday, I went to the dr. they put me on muscle relaxants and pain killers, to no avail- I tried that for three weeks though. Went back to the dr. end of July , telling him still had these headaches everyday, he thought they were still stress headaches and wanted to put me in physical therapy to help with the tension. I was in summer college at that time, and I decided after the semester is over, fine that is what I will do. By the middle of August, my neck was very stiff, with the headaches of course!! It was starting to get extremely painful to move my left eye. I was very dizzy and I could no longer go in the car or watch tv without getting physically sick. I was starting to lose my balance easily. I went to the dr. AGAIN. and he thought it was encephalitis and a quick hospital visit would be in and out and it would be good. He decided to do an MRI additionally, and by middle of September I needed my surgery. Remember though symptoms all depend on location of tumors; however, headaches are the most common symptom because of increased pressure inside your skull cavity. Some people have personality changes as a symptom if its in their frontal lobe... I have done much studying and research. Anything I can help you with I would be more than happy. That's why we are all here. : )

Hi, I'm a 21 year old female, who if anyone has read my posts knows I have had a brain tumor when I was 19; I tell you this so you know that I am somewhat credible in what I am saying. My symptoms progressed rapidly over the course of 3 months to severe nonfunctional levels. Please do not be offended, my sister was like this also. She is very worried about everything. If she gets a headache, feels a lump (muscle), just very nervous/anxious and that's how her anxiety manifests itself. And she thought she was going to die, ALL the time, everyday. She started on antidepressants and it helped control that. A big thing is changing the way you think, obviously medicine isn't going to take everything away but it helps you begin to control how you think. IF** you honestly feel like there is something wrong, I am certainly not dismissing you, you know you better than anyone. But if you are admitting your anxiety I would say you have no solid symptoms to have checked, it's more an anxiety thing. If you had a chronic headache everyday getting worse, then maybe, but sometimes even worrying about certain illnesses like neckaches, or headaches, you can actually make yourself sick and it's a circle. Does this help or not at all? I will be checking back on you : )
