a small painful bumb above my right ear on the side of my head

There is a small bump above my ear on the side of my head. I didnt hit my head or anything. I just realized it was there when i touched it and i hurt a little. does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Hi! In all probability this is a boil, or infected hair follicle, an abscess or an infected cyst. It can also be a swollen lymph node. It is difficult to diagnose without examining. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. Take care!

Probably acne or an infected hair follicle. :)  

How large is it?  Is it soft or hard?
