tis was a solution that i found worked the first time years ago. now its back and i dont know why and i decided to investigate and my conclusion is this...i will take a month or month's but if done right the itch will go. ignore it. dont acknowledge the itch. the hardest par is when the itch is in the most strange of places that you got ot catch your self. the itch is persistant for the first month trying all the tricks eyebrows temples face eyelids forehead arms back of hand any where for you to scratch dont and in time youve won.

dont scratch.    a man that knows your pain and this time ill tell you how long it takes cause it just started again twwo weeks ago and i didnt remember untill i was in the full every thirty second scratch. try it! what can it hurt?

hi there, if it was parasites (scabies) you would have broken out in tiny lumps like goose pimples by now and the itch is mostly near hot spots groin, between fingers behind knees, these are caught by skin to skin contact or dirty linen/towels if a person you no has them, we use derbac m to threat these you could try this lotion for 24 hours if the skins not broken and if it dosnt work it might be wise to go and have a blood test done to determin its not something in the blood. iv had scabies in the past hence why i no about them. hope this helps.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Dry skin is the commonest cause of generalized itching. Applying a moisturizer and using only soaps that are gentle on the skin is helpful in this case. Hypothyroidism too causes dry skin. Please get your thyroid function checked. It could also be due to overuse of AC and heaters.  If you have blisters at tip of fingers and dry skin then you need to rule out certain conditions such as diabetes, psoriasis, hypothyroidism, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and malnutrition.
Generalized itching can be due to allergy. Common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, synthetic fiber, food, cosmetics (powders, soaps, shampoos—see if anything was recently changed) or drugs. Food allergies like to gluten, lactose, sea food, and alcohol etc too should be looked into.  It could also be due to new soap, talcum powder, clothes etc. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin test or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. Fungal infections like tinea corporis and tinea cruris too cause whole body itching along with genital itching. Liver problems too can cause generalized itching.
If the itch is only in the exposed part, it can also be due to sun allergy. Pubic and body lice can be another cause. Worms are another cause of both anal and body itch and hence get a stool test.
Menopause in women is another reason for this. Low estrogens are supposed to be the cause. Try a diet rich in estrogens. Hormone replacement therapy can also help a few. PCOD and hormone imbalance too can be a cause.
If it is just crawling sensation, then it can be due to Lyme’s disease too. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
