falling over

I have just read the questions from 2 people who say they keep falling over. I am interested in this because that is what happens to me. I am 49 and I started having falls about a year ago and they have got a lot worse. On a particularly bad day I fell over 12 times it is as though my left leg just gives way underneath me. I also have problems with my eyes, tingling in my fingers and sometimes my speech is affected.

I have epilepsy and my neurologist has basically said she does not know why I am having these symptoms.
I have been to my dr  and another dr. and have been told that there is no explanation I have been trying to get a second opinion but it can take months to get a referral, which my doctor has done but the neurologist has basically refused to see me until May 2013.

HELP.
where do I go from here. This is driving me nuts.

PS, I am in the U.K

Anyone got any thoughts on this ?
I would be sooo grateful for some feedback.

Hi Lisa,
Thank you so much for your response.

Looking back to last year, we were involved in a car accident in March.thankfully no one was seriously hurt but I was reminded that my symptoms started about two months later. I suppose it is possible that may have something to do with it I don't know.

I do not feel that my. Gp or the neurologist are being very helpful. All I am being told at the moment is that lots of patients have symptoms which"do not fit the textbooks and that there is no explanation for.
I had a ct scan over a year ago but it did not show anything up. My neurologist will not see me until may next year. The gp said that another set of tests won't show up anything new. In other words we will not test you again.
I have not been tested for ms - or anything else since last year.

I am in limbo. One doctor I saw even suggested I could go private!
As if I could afford to.

Thank you once again for you message I really appreciate it. Can I keep in touch and let you know what happens?
Thanks
Yours

Hi, i am so sorry to hear all you are going through. It must be terrible. Have you been tested for MS? There is also something calledthe vagus nerve , it starts at the base of your brain and goes through your chest and to the stomach. If this nerve is damaged in anyeay you will have alot of issues depending where its damaged at. Have you been in any type of accident, of any trama to your spine lately. Think back to what had happened right before your symptoms started. It may be something simple and a chiropractor may be able to fix this. It wont hurt to try that for a few weeks to see if there is any improvement. Let me know how your doing ok? take care, Lisa
