thank you for caring - according to his family dr., most of the possibilities you mentioned have not shown up in blood work & and he has had extensive blood work. It just seems like every dr we go to is a specialist and its not in their field so they send him to someone else and on and on and on. His famiy dr sent us to a teaching hospital where we saw a GREAT infectious disease dr., but he sent us to another dr. and here we go again......Hopefully MRI results will show better picture of mass in pelvic area. His hips and legs hurt so bad this morning and they are really weak. Headache started yesterday then fatigue then Fever last night from 99 - 101.9 most of the night. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, doesn't touch it?? He's taking Ultram for pain and it seems to work some. Once this flare is over, he may be fine for a day or two then here we go again.
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
I can understand your concern regarding the persistence of fever in your husband’s case. One thing is that the lump that you mentioned should be further followed up. At times certain cancers can cause persistent fevers.
I am enumerating the possible causes for persistent fevers; you can go over the possibilities and see what has not been looked into. Recurrent or chronic fever is seen in tuberculosis, SLE, rheumatoid arthritis, Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) and other auto immune disorders, UTI, drug fever, glandular fever, otitis media, IBS, HIV, STDs, endocarditis, parasitic infestations, fungal infections, lymphomas and other cancers etc. Please go over the list and discuss with your husband’s doctors.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
