I have a pin point pain(pinching) in URQ which comes and goes.  In morning no pain but once I start moving and streaching it returns.  the area seems a little numb and I do have some nausea but nothing severe.  Have had gall stones in past however this does not feel like that pain, big difference.  No fever, no pain some times although I am aware of it.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It could also be costochondritis, which causes pain and tenderness at points where your ribs attach to your breastbone.  The inflammation around the joint area gives sharp pain on taking a breath. This can also cause tenderness on pressing the area which pains. An orthopedic doctor can diagnose this for you. Generally there is no cause. However it can be due to infection, blow, injury, or fibromyalgia. It usually goes away on its own. Otherwise it can be treated with muscle relaxants, and non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs.
It can also be muscle pull. Shingles can also start this way. Pain under right ribs with gas can be due to any inflammatory bowel disease like Celiac or Crohn’s, IBS or due to food intolerance. Hope this helps. Take care!

Hello since the pain eases with rest and returns with exertion, it is most likely muscular in nature.  It is possible you have lifted or twisted your body in a way that has irritated that region.  Other organs in or around that area that could be the culprit are your appendix, liver, pancreas, colon, and gallbladder.

I had an issue with my appendix that for 6 months I went from one doctor to another, and had test after test, without any answers and was put on meds for IBS, ulcers, you name it, and nothing helped.   I ended up in emergency surgery on Christmas Eve with my appendix about to rupture, once removed, problem solved.   So I know 1st hand your appendix can flare up and go back down for many months.   Like I said before, I do believe your problem is muscular in nature but if it doesn't resolve before long, definitely don't rule out your appendix as being the possible contributing factor.  I Hope This Helps, and Good Luck,  Keep us posted on what you find out.
