7 years sick and no answers other than anxiety

I first started getting sick 7 years ago, it all started with a whole body numbness feeling, felt like i couldn't breath and ever since that day my health has declined.  I have so many symptoms.  I get dizziness that feels like i'm rocking back and forth like on a boat, balance is not good, ear pain and itchiness, sometimes ringing in the ear, like a high pitched sound, crackling sounds in the ear,  head pressure, brain fog, nausea, my digestion has been off for a long time, very pale stools, stools look like they are twisted up, constipation, i get a pain in my lower right side below the rib cage a lot, i also get it on my left not as often, every time i eat feels like it sits in my stomach for a long time before it digests, loss of appetite, i feel really sick before having a bowel movement like my symptoms increase, when i'm on my period my symptoms are worse, i get headaches a couple of times a week, i feel very weak at times, feel heavy like i weigh a ton, my legs are very restless while i'm trying to go to bed, i toss and turn all night and wake up several times, never feel rested, my legs feel like blood is having a hard time pumping through, i have urge to urinate and when i do there isn't much, i have had bladder infection, one doctor said i had kidney infection while another said it was blood infection, they said my white blood cell count was the highest they had ever seen.  I have been diagnosed with anxiety, that is all my doctor thinks it is but it just feels like there is more to it.  I do have panic attacks and was in an abusive relationship for almost 18 years.  The only thing i can think of is right before i got sick i had round type sores on my ankles and was told it was calluses and to put castor oil on them and they would go away, i did this they did, they come back put the castor oil on them again and they have never come back but there is scarring.  I feel sick everyday and it has become very overwhelming.  I do feel depressed because i just want to get better and i'm not getting any answers.  I feel like i'm leaving symptoms out because there are so many.  At times i feel like i blank out like i'm not even there, i don't feel real sometimes.  Another time i was in the hospital i had low potassium and was very sick with the flu.  I do have night sweats occassionally. I have had low blood pressure at time, i do have heart palpitations called pvc's.   Please help.  I just feel there is something more than anxiety.

So sorry your are still grieving.  Severe depression can cause physical symptoms.  And yes, it can cause you to feel more depressed when alone with your kids or driving... our thoughts can get rather negative at these times and we feel so alone without support of any kind.  Do you have friends you can surround yourself with?  Anyone you can talk to on the phone?  My heart goes out to you - you have your beautiful children that you need to make good memories with.  They need you to talk to them, sing to them, read them stories and teach them about God.  - I know you feel low and don't want to do anything... but look at them, they need their Mommy to smile and hug them and tell them they are loved.  Write to me if you wish.  I will answer.

Sorry to hear of your feeling so low Mandy.  Sounds to me like you are still in a state of bereavement.  As your doctor to refer you to an appropriate counsellor to help you.  Sometimes medications alone don't always work.

Best wishes.

a lot of your systems I have.  when I lost my mom.  I had already lost my daddy and my hubby.  I lost my will to live.  I lost weight and I did not want to live any more.  my niece moved in with her pregnant daughter and made me want to live again.  but my doctor said I was in severe depression.  that was 6 years ago.  I cant get on with my life everything in me changed I feel like a different person.  I miss my family.  I still don't want to live but.  I have not tried anything in a good while.  I took some pain pills and some nerve pills but I did not take enough I thought it would put me to sleep and wouldn't wake up.  but that did nt work.  my doctor talked to me said if I tried anything elsei would be put in the hospital.  I lost my heart my feelings I feel that I cant be hurt anymore than I already have been.  I had a good marriage.  we camped and went to the coast a least once a year more if we could.  im sorry I went on and on.  sounds so much like depression.  the ankles sounds different.  they should have done some tests on them.  ask your doctor about Effexor and have him check you for depression.   mandy876

Sorry to hear you are so unwell with all these different problems.

I'll start with the ears first.  If these are still bothering you and you still feel dizzy, you need to get back to your doctor to check your ears.  You may have an inner ear infection like labyrinthitis and this is treated by antibiotics.  If you get dizzy spells that are not connected to an infection, you may have Mennieres disease and your doctor should refer you to an Ears Nose and Throat specialist.

Although there is no cure for ringing in the ears (this is called Tinnitis), you should get your ears checked out.  With the crackling sounds you hear, it is likely that you have congestion and the doctor may prescribe a medication to help with the congestion.  You can do steam inhalations to unblock the congestion.

With the pains under the right side and you feeling nausea you may have a liver or gall bladder problem.  Your doctor can do blood tests to check for liver function and also send you for an ultrasound scan.  Do not eat any fried or junk foods. Stop drinking alcohol and fizzy drinks.  Drink plenty of water and eat bland foods to begin with to see how you get on.

With the pain under the left breast and again with you feeling nausea, this is to do with your stomach (I don't think it is a spleen problem).  Your doctor can prescribe stomach medications for this if over the counter stomach remedies do not help.  Again, avoid fried and spiced foods.

With you not having an appetite, which is understandable with the pains you feel, you also may be anaemic.

The colour of your stools and constipation is a lot with what you are eating and may be connected with your liver/gall bladder.

Drink plenty of water.  2-3 litres per day is what is usually recommended.  But if you have a urinary infection you may need to drink a little more.

Although anxiety can cause dizzy turns, you do have an ear problem and other issues that need to be investigated.

Write a list of all the symptoms you have and see the doctor with it.
You may also benefit with an antidepressant to help you cope with your anxiety issues and referral to a counsellor to help with your past issues.

Best wishes.
