Do you suffer from anxiety? It could be many things from heart problems to acid reflux
You have several problems, and require an in-person evaluation by a physician. Since you have to travel to see a doctor, and the tests you need may require scheduling (so they can take place the same day), you should pre-arrange the visit long-distance.
You require a consult with more than one specialist. Again this requires arranging because you have a distance to travel.
The cardiac consult should require a stress EKG. A simple EKG is meaningless. As is an x-ray.. Ideally you should stay in a hospital overnight wearing a holter. You need an in-person exam. Not telahealth.
Your symptoms are characteristic of arthritis. Usually there is no treatment except symptomatic relief, but not necessarily. Symptoms can be aggravated by ingesting nightshades, such as potato skins, eggplant skins and tomato skins. You need a consult with a rheumatologist.
And you also need an endochronological consult. Rule out diabetes and thyroid issues. Blood tests are required. Thyroid blood function tests should be done in the morning before breakfast.
The problem will be coordinating all visits so they can take place on the same day. Usually this can be done at a teaching hospital. You may have to get a motel. Many hospitals have arrangements for patients to stay for a day or two in a hotel at a reduced rate. See if you can contact a social worker at the hospital.
The vitamin supplements suggested by Lightseeker are always a good idea. I would add 1000 mg a day of vitamin C.
It may pay for you to take a trip to the United States and get evaluated at a good clinic like the Mayo clinic.
You don't mention your weight, but many of these problems are associated with obesity.
You don't have an immediate emergency, but have to plan to get a complete physician at some time in the future. This should be coordinated long distance beforehand or you will get the wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am treatment and walk out of the office with nothing resolved and an appointment for tests weeks in the future, necessitating expensive unnecessary travel. This is easier said than done, especially if you have primary care physician.
In the United States they have what are called "Diagnostic Centers" which specialize in providing a complete round-robin of tests with many specialists in a short period of time (one or two days next to one another) and providing you with a written repot.
Hello.
Welcome to Medhelp I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
Most common causes of chest pain are:
1. Muscular Pain / Costrocondritis.
2. Chest pain due to heart issues.
3. Acid peptic disease.
We can't afford to miss cardiac reason for chest pain so we always advise to get an ECG and Chest Xray done. This will give an idea that pain is cardiac in nature or not.
If the ECG and Chest Xray are normal, the pain is probably Muscular or due to Acid reflux.
For acid reflux, i would advise you to take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone once a day.
If you have recurrent episodes of acidity, get upper GI endoscopy and Ultrasound Abdomen done.
For muscular chest pain , do hot fomentation of the affected area and apply Diclofenac ointment locally.
Share my opinion with your doctor before acting upon it.
I hope it helps.
Stay Healthy
Hi sassymomma, I've been through Delhi on my way to Tillsonburg
a few years ago. I did not realize you have no clinic and no doctors there.
I don't think you can avoid not seeing a doctor.
The chest heaviness is of concern.
It could be not serious, but again, you don't want to take a chance.
Make sure you get checked for deficiencies: iron, vitamin B12 methylocobalamin, vitamin D and hypothyroidism as well, but ask for
free T3, free T4 and reverse T3, so you also cover type 2 thyroid resistance, which is not indicated in the standard tests, but reverse T3 is not covered by OHIP.
You'll probably going to be checked for arthritis as well.
If it takes too long for an appointment there's always the possibility of
using Telehealth. Just look for their number in your tel. directory.
If you mention the chest heaviness, they will likely screen you over the telephone and possibly get you an appointment with a doctor fairly fast.
I hope things workout for you.
Best wishes,
Niko
