I am 57 years old, I drink beer once or twice a month ( 5 beers at most). About 10 years ago I went for a endoscopy and the GI doctor said, I had Barrett's esophagus. I don't smoke and try to eat right, but like everything it doesn't always happen. For the last year I have been waking up in the morning with a pain on my right side just below my ribs. I told my PCP about it and he didn't know what it was, so he sent me to my GI doctor. I went for a ultrasound of my stomach and they said, I had a non-alcoholic fatty liver. And told me to watch what I eat. Then I went for my endoscopy July 15th and the doctor said, I had some inflammation of my stomach. I asked him about the pain on my right side but he never gave me an answer. I have noticed that the pain on my right side in the morning occurs a lot when I eat a snack the night before, but I always leave 3 to 5 hours before I go to bed. What could be causing this pain ? It is driving me nuts ! I have thought it might be IBS, or a painful gas pocket, a spasm, ulcer, constipation, I do go to the bathroom when I wake up (normal). Stress ? I am getting no answers ! I did also notice that when I go to bed at night my stomach makes a kind of URP sound every now and then before I fall asleep. If anyone has any idea what this might be or what might be causing it your input would be greatly appreciated.
