gastric problems

For around 3 years I have suffered with some strange symptoms - initially it started with a tightening in my throat which seemed to go down to my stomach - the tightening seemed to get worse and then subside after about 10 minutes.

Following on from this, i started to suffer with stomach problems, expecially at night.  I get very gassy and have a burning sensation in my stomach.  My doctor prescribed Omeprazole - I was prescribed this twice.

Over the past 6 months, i have started to have an iritating pain in my lower right side, it feels like my bottom rib is digging in me and this pain coinsides with the excess gas (wind) in my stomach.  I have had 2 instances of waking up in the night with severe stomach pain - feeling nausious, sweating - these lasted around 20 minutes.  The second attack was so bad, I was at the point of going to hospital but it subsided.  After the attack, my heart beat was very eratic - it was frightening and since the last attack (May - June)  I have been very nervous of this happening again.

Over the last two weeks I have had constant windy stomach and pain in my side which keeps me awake most of the night- I open my bowels about 3 times a day but this is not diarea

I have now started to get pain all down my right side at night, my shoulder, my side,  my hip, my knee and sometimes even my ankle??

My new doctor is making arrangements for me to have a camera put down into my stomach but I wondered how this would show what is causing the pain in my side and if they are related.

I also have started to suffer with pins and needles in my fingers at night.

Over the past 2 months I am losing around 2 to 3 lb in weight a week even though i gave up smoking 3 weeks ago?

I am 53 years young (feeling older every day) and had an early menapause at 42 - although i have still suffered slight hot flushes for the last 4 - 5 years mainly in Summer - I am now getting flushes all the time - even a slight change in external temperature makes me feel flushed and faint.  i.e.  If i am very cold and put a blanket over me, i quickly start to have a flush and yesterday while walking outside, it was cold, I went into a glass house at the gardens and although only slightly warmer, I soon had to leave as felt faint and hot.

Probably too much information
Maybe I'm past it and need trading in for a newer model :)

Thanks for thoughts... I had a coloscopy around 4 years ago - have to admit it was prior to these issues I have now - but I was advised I had a very healthy looking colon.

There are so many things it could be and I guess I will have to wait until I have the gastroscopy to rule out one of them?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The symptoms could be due to an inflammatory bowel condition (IBS, Crohn’s, celiac or food intolerance), severe acidity with H pylori infection, liver, gall bladder or pancreatic dysfunction or due to gastric reflux. Please consult a GI doctor to rule out these causes one by one. Hope this helps. Take care!

This almost sounds like a gallbladder problem to me. I've been having faint pains myself, and have done plenty of reading to try and find my problem. You have most of the symptoms related to gallbladder disease.
