perineal pain

I am 8 wks S/P robotic assisted TVH/BSO, Monarc sling, and rectocele repair.
There is still a painful, firm lump under the skin on the perineum (closer to the vulva than the rectum).
Still unable to sit normally without discomfort. This has persisted throughout the post-op period.
There has been no bowel problems; no constipation; no straining.
I've tried a course of Ibuprofen and ice for 2 weeks without relief.
Does warrant another visit to the surgeon?

Thank You

So, for the protracted inflammation in the perineum due to persistent suture material, would I expect a treatment such as a local steroid injection? A topical cream?  Or, something more invasive? A course of NSAIDS and ice have not imprved the condition.

Thanks for your question.  For sure you should bring this to your surgeons attention.  Suture material may be a bit slow to absorb in this area so this may be nothing more than protracted inflammation as a consequence of persistent suture material. Still 8 weeks is getting a little far out for persistent inflammation so I am certain your doctor will want to know you still have a painful spot on the perineum.  Good luck
