I am male, aged 35, average weight, 180 tall.
About 8 years ago I noticed my pee wasnt gushing like it used to and dripped towards the end. 3 years ago I noticed my muscle mass around the buttocks didnt seem as dense as it was. It was sore sleeping on whichever side. 3 months on My heel started hurting when standing for long periods. This was diagnosed as painful heel syndrome. This problem has been progressing ever since. 4 months ago ago I had a shooting pain in my right leg from the centre of my buttock for a few seconds when standing. The area around my buttock seems to be continuing to looose musle mass, which seems to directly affect my ability to pee and empty my bladder. 3 months ago my hands started to have pins and needles followed by muscle twitching. The twitching seems to be focused on my lower back, buttocks, and right facial cheek. Although it affects my arms, legs, stomach and even throat at times. I have seen 2 neurologists, Both couldnt see any signs of atrophy and no sign of weakness. I have had an mir of the brain and spine which were clear apart from the ventrica which were too large for my age. I have had an emg which was normal. Full blood count was normal apart from slightly high uric acid and cholestoral. b12 and thyroid was negative. More recently my calves seem cold and slightly numb to the front. I now have a constant pain in my right buttock and similar pain in my left that comes and goes. I have also experiences of an 'on and off' numb sensation in my nose and forehead that last for a few seconds at a time. I am able to work and function completly normally, still have no weakness, no fatigue. Driving or standing still seems to make it worse. Lying on my back seems to help or lying in the sun. My neurologist has told me to forget about it, its nothing serious, but thinks it is a problem with my bladder or kidneys.
I understand that this problem covers certain other areas, but am hoping that you can shed some light.
1. My neurologist has ruled out als, ms, lyme, would you agree?
2. Do you think this is a problem with the kidney/bladder?
3. Could it be a problem with my lower back, ie pseudo sciatica, despite clean mri?
4. If none of the above, have you any idea what this could be?
I understand that you are responding from my email only and havnt examined me.
I would like to thank you in advance for any help you can give. This is an exemplery service. I am more than happy to donate to this excellent service. If I could knight you I would!
