my penis is numb....it's been getting more progressively worse for a week. the doctor said i have nothing, but he is obviously wrong. any help please?

Numbness of the penis can occur from long term pressure of the penis against the bones of the pelvis such as occurs with a racing type of bicycle seat. Peripheral neuropathies such as that related to diabetes mellitus can also be a cause as can nerve compression of a spinal nerve. In an otherwise healthy male I would investigate the possibility of an emotional cause for this symptom.
Candidiasis, a fungal skin infection, would cause a redness and possibly evidence of infection such as a discharge from the skin of the area.
