another lump

It has been almost a month since my wide-open excision and to my horror,  I have found another lump.
I have been checking the area several times a day,  the nurse marked an outline around the lump and it has become larger.  WHAT THE HECK!!!   A couple of days ago I had a large amount of foul smelling, green pus from one of the holes near the open excision.  Hopefully,  there is no extra pocket there.
My surgery consisted of being cut from my right side to my sternum and a really good clean up.  It was looking really promising until a couple of days ago.   I would like to have a break for a few years heck,  I would like to have a break for a fwe months.

Thank you for saying that I am remarkable.  I think that I am more of a survivor than anything else.
I am going to look in the Mayo or University of Michigan Hospital to see what they have to offer.  Beaumont want $500 cash up front for an examination and then would decide which "department"  would best suit my needs.
I am grateful for the support and when I need those letters to OHIP,  I'll know I can turn on you.
  Thank you Jo

Hi jackpat:

I am so sorry to read your latest post and know the active disease and pain is continuing for you.

I can honestly say that you have endured more with GM than anyone else I know.

You are obviously very strong and graceful in your suffering, I wish I could help you and feel so badly that the hospital in Toronto couldn't assist you.

Have you hear anything about a possible referral to Mayo?

What can the group here do to support you - anything at all - a letter writing campaign to the Ontario Health program ask that you be referred to the specialist at Mayo that I believe it was Noelle mentioned.  An active search for other referrals within Toronto that might produce better care for you...anything.

Please know that you are remarkable, not for having this rare condition, but for your ability to move through this process with continued hope and positive focus, and that you share and post here with other women, to assist them, even through your own suffering.

There must be something we can do to assist you...anything at all.

Remember we are a team, we are all behind you. Through the years have observed that some of the more heartfelt and serious posts are not responded to by a large number of our members, not because they don't care, but I believe because they do care and are just at a loss of words and suggestions of what to do.

Keep up the good fight!

Your friend, Jo

I've never heard it as FNA although it makes sense because we give everything else acronums.
I have had many ultrasound guided aspirations with success for a little while.  I develop sinus tracks which become infected because they are small and hidden.  With the infectioln,  the wound becomes much larger.  The open excision is healing really well this time.  The lump that I mentioned is at the sterum but,  I noticed another one today above the excisioln;  it's warm to the touch and red.  There is no point me going to the hospital to have it checked because there is literally no antibiotic that I can tolerate unless they indubate me.  I'll save that for extreme circumstances..
   Thanks for the info.

Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) done with Ultrasound guidance.

The doctor uses ultrasound on the breast. Then numbs the skin, inserts a needle and removes the fluid from the abcess without having to open skin. The risk of infection is much lower than that of a biopsy or excision.

Pardon my ignorance but what are FNA's?

Amen sister! Both to this post, and your response to my drugs post. I grieve for you. I want to scream "too much." I wish drugs were an option for you, but I can understand completely why they are NOT. Do FNAs help at all? I cringe when I think of all the surgery you have undergone. I hope and pray that somehow, someone can help you get on top of this.
