I could've posted in a regular forum, but you are the people who would've answered me anyway! So I thought I'd just come right to the source...
My daughter, Emily, is 7 1/2. Over the summer she mentioned a couple times that her chest hurt and I just thought she may have pulled a muscle or bruised something in gymnastics. At dinner tonight she said again that her chest hurt right then and that it had happened during the afternoon, too, but she didn't tell me. She says it feels like something is thudding and maybe her heart is going really fast. (Really hard to get a good description from a child!) At dinner she said the pain went through her stomach, too. I tried the pain scale analogy with her. She said 'regular' pain was 'in the middle' and the one with tummy pain too was at the end, that it really hurt.
She is asthmatic but hasn't had a flare since the spring. She had a cold three weeks ago but hasn't been coughing. My sister has a prolasped mitral valve, so we do have some heart issues in the family. Emily had a small whole in her heart when she was born, but it healed within a month and has never had any issues since.
We just had a check-up for asthma last week. I wish this would've happened last weekend, instead! So what would you do...make another appt? Wait and see? Advice, please. Thanks!
