I just wanted to share that my daughter was welcomed into the world on Dec 1 at 6:29 pm. She is named Emma and was 6lbs 4 oz at birth.
I was induced because of a really short labor with my older DD and we are a little ways from the hospital. The Dr. used cytotek to dilate my cervix a little and it was enough to kickstart me into labor on my own, so I didn't have to worry about pitocin. After about 8 hours of painless contractions 2 minutes apart, the contractions became much more painful and I gave birth an hour later drug free. I was screaming for the epidural at the end but my recovery time was much better with this one than with my first birth, with an epidural.
It was a little scary at the end because her heart rate kept dropping super low, and when the Dr used the vacuum to help suction her out they found the cord wrapped around her neck fairly tight. She wasn't making any sounds and they took her right away, I didn't get to see her for a half hour. It was the best feeling when they took her across the room and I heard her cry. Everything worked out well in the end and she is doing wonderfully.
Good luck to everyone who's met there little miracles, and good luck to those still waiting!
