My baby showed 6 days off in the ultrasound

Hi, I'm 22 weeks pregnant and had my 2nd ultrasound 2 weeks ago to find out the gender. It's a girl :) This is my first pregnancy, they called me last week to tell me that my baby showed as 6 days off, meaning that instead of showing 20 weeks she showed as she was 19w and 1 day. My first ultrasound was vaginal the 2nd one was abdominal, they told me is being considered a small baby, why is that? should I be worried? Thank you all!

My daughter's stats at birth, just in case your wondering how they managed to confuse a pre-term & a full-term baby:

5 lbs, 13 oz
18 1/2 length
12 inches around the head

I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs so I DID ask the nurses why my baby was so tiny, if she was indeed "full term". I was told that she was small because we were small. I was only 5'2'' & 110 lbs (before pregnancy) & the presumed dad was only 150 lbs at 5'8''. I just shrugged & said, "Okay."

Hey,when you're only 18 years old, you just assume the trained medical staff knows all the right answers & you don't ask for 2nd opinions.

With my 1st child, they gave me both the vaginal (at 1st) & the abdominal scans & all the scans came back with a due date of 2/1. My daughter was born on 1/14 & the doctor & nurses declared my baby "full term" because she passed their tests & was only two weeks short of her due date.

However, a DNA test 6 years later proved that my daughter was pre-term at no more than 35 weeks because her bio-dad & I had only had sex for the 1st time 33 weeks before the date she was born. Of course, that's adding in the 2 extra weeks they always throw in.

To keep a VERY long story short, I had dumped the presumed dad weeks before I got with her bio-dad so the dates the scans gave us only left us with one option for paternity. With the presumed father's consent, bio-dad signed the birth certificate & she was Daddy's Little Princess. We married after she was born to protect his rights & only had the DNA test because we we're getting divorced & all of a sudden he didn't want to pay child support. I cried the day we got the letter in the mail with the test results because I thought my daughter was gonna lose her Daddy once I opened it because the doctors had NEVER indicated to me that they could have been wrong about how far along I was during pregnancy. I swear it felt like a "Days of Our Lives" moment when the paper said he was her dad. To this day I cannot believe it worked out so that she always had the right dad with her. If my ex had walked away in the beginning, there would never have been a DNA test because we trusted the scans & noone but God would have ever known the truth.

So, I don't trust due dates much when it comes to sonograms. Plus, everyone is right, my daughter came when God determined it was right & she was healthy despite being so early. Everything will work out just fine so DO NOT let a few days cause you any stress. :-)

dont stress ur 1st ultra sound is usually the right date as they do grow at different speeds but bottom line is its an estimate baby will come when baby is ready :)

I've always been told that for dating a pregnancy early u/s are best because after that babies grow at different rates.  A friend of mine was measuring small up until 30 weeks or so but now it seems the baby has hit a growth spurt and they think she is going to be big.  Try not to take too much stock in what the u/s says.  They can be off by quite a bit.  What is important is the baby's hb and all the important parts present and working.
