question about gerd

My doctor has diagnosed me with Gerd/acid refulx and he has prescribed me pariet. My heartburn dissappeared immediately. I'm glad for that. When I met my doctor and described the problem to him I told him that my belly button was sore. My belly button is getting very sore and there is a bubble that form to the left of my belly button and it is sore to the touch and when I push on it as it gets full of pressure. The bubble shrinks, it probably gets to be about an one inch in diameter. Sorry for the run on sentence. I'm not conviced that this bubble is the result of gerd. I'm concerned that maybe something else is going on. I will certainly go back to my doctor as I really need to do a follow up, but it takes me a month or more to get in to see him. Right now i'm just looking for information. Could this be a hernia?
